Cats and Dogs, URGENT on EUTH LIST - Lafayette, LA - CROSSPOST

Update on last email. The only animals left are one adult pure bred catahoula and several kittens. All the rest were gassed. If anyone can take any of these animals please call them before 5 p.m. today. Or they will die tomorrow AM first thing.

Please take a look and see if you can help anybody. The shelter is filled with the wonderful little dogs that everybody wants. They are all awesome, but that shaggy Terrier is a cutie...a handful, though. Several are just dogs...plain dogs nobody will take a chance on.
The male, black Labs break my heart. They will do absolutely anything to please, but people pass by without even a glance much less a pat on the head. Our two local Lab rescuers are very overextended. They have Labs all over the place, and several in boarding. There is just nowhere else to go with them.
If you are looking for a good use of your donation money, support those who save the Labs...it is tough and it is heartbreaking. They are April Reeves with Lafayette Animal Aid at: apr0227@msn.com and Nancy Marcantel with ARF at: ntmarcantel@att.net.
They need local fosters desperately. Once you get to know a Lab, my personals favorites being the black boys, you will be hooked.
I am making a special plea for the adult cats. Cats are coming in probably close to 100 a week. The adults don't have a prayer. The big boy Bear has been held over, but in spite of the fact that he is neutered and declawed, Jenny has said he only has Monday. She is the cat caretaker, and she loves them so much. She is really having a tough time as we are not getting them out. Miracles happen everyday, though. As of last Monday, we had only 2 dogs out of 17 or so safe. Harry held them over and 4 orgs pulled Thursday to get them ALL out. Please send to anybody who can help the cats.
