Toffee - the Hero
Posted 06/28/2006
Maybe this can stop just 1 person from dumping their dog at a "shelter":
I have a plea for help here. This AM one of those "throw away" dogs named Toffee (that I saved who was on the euthanazia list) got bit by a rattlesnake. She and a group of dogs were doing a fence perimeter check with their caretaker. All of the dogs were out front of the lady,
Julie, who is their caretaker. Julie heard the rattle & did not see the snake. Toffee heard it, too and came back. She positioned herself between the snake and Julie & the other dogs. All got away and Toffee took the strike. She is only 2 years old.
She is in the Emergency Hospital now screaming in pain. It may take $2000 to save her as she is anemic and may need transfusions. I am a 501(c)3 charity and if you can make a donation to save Toffee, please do so. I cannot allow a hero like this die for lack of funds. Cheryl, A Passion for Paws Rescue Paypal is apassionforpaws@gmail.com and I accept credit cards. Please help!
