We really, really hope to keep them together as they are VERY attached; they even eat out of the same bowl.
They are lovely, friendly, sweet and smart dogs. They are outside dogs ONLY... they've never been inside a house and, believe it or not, never evenbeen on a walk! Since they've been in my care I have been letting them out once a day to run around, but that's the ONLY time they have ever left they backyard where they live. VERY low-maintenance dogs.
The owner is an elderly woman who suffered a stroke almost 4 months ago. She has since been diagnosed with lung cancer and will not be coming home. Her son is going to take the dogs to the shelter at then end of this coming week if I don't find them a home.
Jack and I seriously discussed taking them as they are TRULY great dogs and we'd love to have them. However, as most of you know, we have two large dogs who are both suffering from arthritis and various aches and pains. I just can't bring two young dogs in to the yard with them in good conscience. I have even offered to just keep caring for them, as difficult as it is, butthey want to sell the house and they want the dogs gone.
We would be willing to drive the dogs 3-4 hours outside of Austin even if you know anyone in another city who might take them.
Thank you so much for trying to help us.
Michele and Jack
