Ponies - Sierra and Dawn
Posted 07/03/2006
Need to find homes for these lovely mares. The old mare is being kicked by the pony (pics of injuries included). They need to be placed with the help of a reputable rescue. In Berryton, Kansas .
Dawn, is approximately twenty five to thirty years old, a buckskin quarter horse mare, about 15 ½ hands high.
Shy around people but she is really a sweet horse when she gets to know you and feels secure. Does not like to have feet trimmed. OK with shots and worming. Not real good around other horses.
Should not be ridden!!!
Sierra, about 9 years old, black, about thirteen hands high, half quarter and Shetland pony.
Does well by herself and not being around other horses. Loves people and attention. Not real good with getting her feet trimmed but seems to do alright with her shots and worming .
Appears never to have been broke or ridden.
It has been determined that the two should not be placed together, they are granddaughter and grandmother but do not get along.
They seem to be alright around cats and hearing dogs bark and with other animals across the fence. Would like to place the pony as soon as possible and the old mare can wait a little longer to place if need be.
